Yes, we awake to a bleak and rainy day, there is a reason they call this monsoon season. The sky is solid grey and the rain just comes straight down. It is not a Hawaii rain, nor a Texas rain, this is a Philippines rain. The locals say it will be over in October, not much consolation for our current vacation. Blaine has come over this morning to help John get an antenna set up which will help us get the yacht club’s Internet out here at the boat. Unfortunately, the yacht club’s Internet is not working so it is more of a theoretical exercise. Yesterday, when we asked when would the Internet be working again, they said five minutes. Today when we asked when would the Internet be working again, they said thirty minutes. Not sounding good.
The rain continues throughout the day. Eventually Blaine is finished (an interesting guy who learned electronics and spent a lot of time in Iraq and Afghanistan).
We are starting to contemplate other options for the remainder of our trip. There is one cyclone that has just missed the islands and there is another forming which will be along the east side of the islands in another few days. There are small craft advisories off shore so there does not appear to be anymore boating. We continue to contemplate.
